Camping!!!
Well after the party we went camping on Sunday. Some good times, good times. We were kind of bummed becuase they said that there was no swimming in the run because of the Manatees and I guess that they didn't want anyone messing around with them. But it was still cool. Got to walk around there and check out some trails. Just sat around the fire and did the usual camp thing. At least we had a cool grill though and were able to eat some real food of hot dogs, cheese burgers, and in some cases, steak! Can you believe that we forgot to bring the smore???? I guess it's okay since you can run to the local convience store and be back in 20 minutes hahaha!!
So while that was gettting taken care of we continued to play Mafia and not realize how cold it was getting as the night went on. Fire is such a cool thing.....ironic isn't it? Anyway, made our smores and threw some stuff in the fire and watched it burn. Played some music on the guitar and talked. Time seemed to have gone by really fast. Nice good times.
The girls all went to sleep in their tent in the next lot over, which you could reach by trekking the very short trail. We must have kept a lot of people up cause I think that we were the last ones to hit the hey and we were very loud before we split to head for our tents. The guys probably went to sleep at around 12 or 12:30. I don't think the girls went to sleep until 3 cause they were watching a movie on the portable DVD player. I believe Pride and Prejudice was the movie.... At least they were really living out of society by not having the normal necessities.
But it was all good though, we had a plan to wake up early before them anyway to complete Operation Water Balloon!!!. hehe... Well, we got up early and were supposed to start filling water balloons and putting them in special strategic places. But it was so cold that our only concern was getting the fire piping hot again and getting warm from that. Perhaps the part of sleeping in the tent that had no protection from the cold had something to do with it. Oh BTW, if you can't sleep with Helicopters flying over head, or trains coming and going every hour or so, then bring some ear plugs when you camp there.
It worked out all good though cause Jarius was able to sneakily get the water ballons filled and put in bags ready for us to attack. Although I wished that since he and Tony were already up, they could have at least stopped the racoon from taking something from out of the cooler. I can't believe that they got the one opened. Check out the prints that they left us.
Anyways, we all got wet in the end. Mostly because James punked out on the guys and double crossed us. What a loose sore. It was tons of fun and look forward to doing it again. Maybe next time we can canoe longer. For the full pics of the camping trip go here
